Job summary
Duties will include:
- attending the 8am trauma meeting and facilitating discussions all new admissions with major trauma from the preceding 24 hours.
- Presenting new admissions and current inpatients to the Major Trauma Board round at 8:30 am on the major trauma ward.
- attending the daily consultant led major trauma ward round on the major trauma ward as well as intensive care/high dependency.
- ensuring tasks pertinent to the care of major trauma patients on the major trauma ward, and outlying wards where necessary, are completed.
- completing tertiary surveys on major trauma patients and ordering and reviewing additional imaging as indicated.
- Ensuring incidental findings are recorded and management or further investigation is actioned as required
- working with the Major Trauma rehabilitation team to ensure that rehabilitation prescriptions are completed.
Main duties of the job
Post holders are expected to work 08:00-17:30 as part of a blended team of clinical fellows and Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP's). Post holders are expected to work 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 weekends with appropriate compensatory rest periods.
