Heart Failure Specialist Nurse

Band 6

Permanent contract

37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has opened up for the right candidate to join a proactive professional multi - disciplinary Heart Failure team at Manchester Foundation NHS Trust in the Manchester Heart Centre. We are looking for an exceptional nurse to join our Heart Failure team. The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programmes of care.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a forward-thinking and very supportive team, who work collaboratively at all levels to deliver high-quality patient centred care.

The post holder will be expected to provide clinical knowledge, demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, treatment, and management of heart failure patients. He/she will monitor and improve standards of care through evidence-based practice, clinical audit, teaching and supporting colleagues, in addition to the provision of skilled professional leadership. He/she will actively contribute to the clinical governance processes within the service.

  • NMC Professional Registration / Registered Adult Nurse
  • Educated to Diploma / Degree / Masters level
  • Teaching qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with patients with heart failure/heart disease
  • Evidence of knowledge of issues relating to heart failure management and advances in care
  • Palliative care experience
  • Possess a good working knowledge of technology, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Demonstrate ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback to clinicians

  • Pervious band 6 cardiology experience.
