Job summary
We are looking for an experienced programme manager with service management experience to lead a portfolio of projects to improve services for people with sickle cell disease (SCD) in Greater Manchester and across the wider north of England. Funded through NHS England's National Healthcare Inequalities Improvement Programme, these will support digitally enabled individualised care plans, an innovative hyper acute pathway for patient in vaso occlusive crisis and enhanced community provision to enable early discharge and improved after-care.
Main duties of the job
The role will be responsible for:
- Establishment of programme governance
- Ensuring production and maintenance of project plans for elements of the programme
- Coordination of delivery of the projects within the programme
- Collation of monthly reports to the national SCD project team
- Provision of the agreed minimum data set for the NHIIP funded hyper acute unit pilot in GM and an additional anticipated pilot
- Evidence of KPIs for development and delivery of digital platform(s) for NW
- Ensuring uploading of SCD care plans by the specialist haemoglobinopathy teams (SHTs) in North West and North East & Yorkshire HCCs
It will involve building effective working relationships with clinical, operational, strategy and informatics colleagues, both within Manchester University NHSFT as the lead organisation and with partner trusts and ICBs in Greater Manchester and the wider north of England, together with the national team at NHS England and fellow sickle cell improvement programmes elsewhere in the country.
The role is part time, to be worked flexibly, and for up to 2 years. It is expected that the initial commitment will be up to 2 to 3 days per week, to establish the programme structure and relationships, tailing down to one day per week as earlier components are delivered.
