Job summary

The post-holder will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative services, performance delivery and management of waiting lists for both electives and outpatients within the Cardiology service. This post is responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative service across Cardiology Department. In accordance with relevant policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. The post holder will contribute to Trust KPIs including 18-week referral to treatment, RTT Recovery Plans.

Main duties of the job

Core Duties

  • Provide induction support to new starters and ensure development of staff is maintained.
  • To ensure all long waiting RTT pathways are managed and reported to Operational Team to ensure continuity of Service.
  • Dealing with the waiting lists of the Consultant / clinical team, including monitoring, maintaining and validating waiting lists for clinic appointments, and day cases for tests/procedures, ensuring staff have clear instructions around deadlines and communication of potential breaches.   • Liaison with Consultant, Specialist Doctor, General Practitioner and other Health Professionals regarding outpatient clinic requirements and other day to day operational escalations. Escalating to Operational Manager as appropriate.
  • Responsible for completing own work in a timely manner consistent with departmental practice or protocol.
  • Cross-cover of colleagues and co-ordination of leave in line with department/divisional arrangements.
  • To work in a manner consistent with Trust and local policies and procedures, protocols etc.
  • Data entry and retrieval from databases / core clinical systems as and when required.
  • Good working relationship with Operational Manager - ability to escalate concerns and seek guidance when needed
  • Support Operational Manager in any additional projects and tasks appropriate to banding.
  • To work flexibly across the service as required.
  • Maintain and store appropriate records
