Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

We are looking for engaged and motivated doctors to join out established consultant workforce and drive forward service in luminal gastroenterology. We currently have vacancies at both the MRI and Wythenshawe sites. An interest in inflammatory bowel disease, and/or upper GI medicine would be favoured, although interests in other areas of luminal gastroenterology will also be welcomed.

The post-holders will join an established team of 37 gastroenterologists in MFT who deliver inpatient care to three large acute hospitals (NMGH, Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital) and outpatient care across Manchester and Trafford.

Main duties of the job

Colleague CoverConsultants are expected to cover colleagues for annual leave, study leave and short-term sickness absence.

Job Plan The exact duties of the appointees will be subject to discussion, but a proposed programme of weekly sessions is based on a working week of 10 PAs (units of Professional Activity) in accordance with the Terms and Conditions - Consultants (England) 2003. It is expected that PAs will be worked flexibly; flexibility in job planning is of particular importance for this roll because of the need to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Trust would grant appropriate study and professional leave in line with the Terms and Conditions of Service. External roles should be discussed with the Clinical Manager prior to acceptance.
