Job summary

This is a particularly exciting time to join the team as we have recently integrated Vascular Services across Manchester Foundation Trust and are working closely with colleagues across Greater Manchester (GM) to further integrate services throughout the 13 hospital sites, and also work closely with other partners across a GM network approach to improve Vascular services for patients.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and have in-depth knowledge of administration processes and good IT skills.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be working alongside a friendly and dedicated team.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team of secretary's and administrators within the Vascular Department of the Cardiovascular CSU supporting the Consultant Surgeons and the wider team within the Service.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a team you will be primarily responsible for receiving and processing referrals, ensuring a timely triage by a clinician, as well as booking and managing outpatient appointments. To ensure variety of role, you will also be involved in assisting with preparing for MDT and support with admin arising from outpatient clinics, inpatients stays and surgery.

To provide admin support as required by the wider Vascular Service team.

To be responsible for completing own work in an accurate and timely manner consistent with departmental practice or protocol

To work as part of a team in a manner consistent with Trust and local policies, procedures, protocols and Values and Behaviours.

Identify best practice and develop working practice in the unit/team to deliver an efficient and effective administration support service
