Job summary

Providing line management for the Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health Team within Employee Health and Wellbeing across all MFT sites. Leading and developing health and wellbeing programmes whilst undertaking clinical audit and evaluation to ensure services are evidence based and fit for purpose. Supporting the development of psychological wellbeing and mental health plans and supporting the Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health Clinical Lead / Team Manager in the development and expansion of services including commissioned services.

Main duties of the job

Provide informal supervision and professional advice/support to the wider EHW team (e.g. Clinical Service, Fitness for Work Team) regarding the management of mental health cases when required Provide monthly data to the Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health Service Manager / Clinical Lead regarding the Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health Teams activity, including any key updates and feedback Work as part of the EHW MDT to ward/department-based interventions; providing assessment and appropriate bespoke interventions which support their issues and needs. Develop and manage team objectives and work plans which meet EHW service objectives and support the EHW service delivery model Work closely with the Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health Service Manager / Clinical Lead to ensure the operational delivery of services is in line with the agreed strategic direction of the service Regularly review and maintain client resources (e.g. handouts, resource lists, intranet page) and referral pathways Provide professional clinical services (business as usual tasks), in addition to leading the team, including providing appropriate interventions to employees (especially complex cases) following a workplace critical or traumatic incident, delivering psychological wellbeing courses, undertaking clinical assessments (including use of standardised measurement tools e.g. PHQ-9/GAD-7, and NICE guidance) and using this assessment to determine appropriate treatment plans/onward referral for clients Provide education, consultation, advice, and high-quality evidence-based trauma-focused interventions to employees impacted by a workplace traumatic incident, whilst playing a key role in the ongoing evaluation and development of the trauma pathway Ensure accurate clinical record keeping for therapeutic service interventions, using audit to demonstrate compliance and provide assurance. Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings Ensure provision of a diversity sensitive service which meets the needs of MFTs diverse workforce, including engagement with key stakeholders

Plan and organise workload, regularly reviewing and prioritising as required Lead the planning and delivery of preventative ill-health programmes (e.g. Employee Assistance Programme, Critical incident pathway, psychoeducational courses) and use complex data from a range of sources to inform the development and expansion of new programmes of work Lead the expansion and engagement of MFTs network of Mental Health First Aiders, working with colleagues to support the evaluation of the programme Work with specific colleagues and key stakeholders outside of the EHW team to raise the profile of, and build confidence in, the EHW Service, and develop relationships to enhance engagement with services. This will involve giving formal presentations at key committees and meetings, e.g. Workforce team, Communications team, HR colleagues Use high level specialist knowledge to develop and deliver training programmes to address specific psychological wellbeing and mental health issues. Ensure that appropriate external support services are accessible to all employees/clients 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
