Job summary

To support the FM Matron in the monitoring of the Trust-wide delivery of FM services in line with the National Standards of Cleaning 2021.

A key member of the Trust monitoring team who will be integral in ensuring the standards of the E&F services are met as well as providing expert knowledge and advice in relation to cleaning and catering.

Main duties of the job

To assist & support the Trust E&F in delivering effective monitoring of contractual specifications alongside National standards.

To monitor, document and accurately report on performance levels of each of the following areas: Maintenance, Portering, Domestic Services, Linen, Waste management, Catering, Helpdesk standards, ensuring any potential failures of performance are escalated & recorded accordingly.

To liaise with stakeholders across the Trust, including, Patient reps, Nursing staff, Matrons, Managers to ensure full consultation & views are sought regarding the Facilities services.

To take appropriate action when contractual performance does not meet with the required output specification.

Support with the annual 'Patient Lead Assessments of the Care Environment' inspections across WTWA, ensuring the standards laid out in the PLACE documents are completed.

Undertake scheduled audits covering the Hard/Soft FM provision across the ORC & other hospital sites. This includes but not limited to Maintenance, Portering, Domestic Services, Linen, Waste management, Catering & Telecommunications.

Support the FM Matron with the planning & reviewing of audit schedules where required.

Support the FM Matron with operational delivery queries this may also include covering occasionally shifts and working later.

  • Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience of working at a Management level within Estates & Facilities Management Environment
  • Provide expertise in at least one FM Service
  • Full clean driving license
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplined Estates & Facilities management team
  • Able to recognise the need to escalate issues outside the remit of the role in a timely manner.
  • Able to communicate appropriately to other Trust or contractors teams to ensure effective service delivery is maintained.
  • Able to promote services with internal and external customers
  • Ability to review invoices and other contractor reporting processes details against contract delivery methodologies to ensure accuracy.
  • Evidence of diplomacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to provide contractor liaison on a day to day basis.
  • Ability to participate and chair in meetings.
  • Able to perform within a management systems in delivering outcomes against specific programmes and budgets.
  • Ability to work within and meet deadlines
