Reporting to our Lead Nurse Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups, you'll act as an expert advisory across both Acute and Community services in relation to safeguarding mental health, learning disability and autism. With experience of managing the implementation of change and as an inspirational and enthusiastic leader, you'll facilitate the delivery of high-quality safeguarding services focused on mental health, learning disability and autism across the Trust to an agreed and auditable quality standard to comply with all national and local legislation and guidance across both Community and Acute health care settings.

Main duties of the job
- As a registered Mental Health Nurse with significant relevant psychiatric experience post registration, you'll manage and support the safeguarding, learning disability, autism, and mental health teams, working closely with clinical staff to ensure that decision making is informed by expert safeguarding advice.
- Working alongside the Lead Nurse Safeguarding, and with experience of implementing and coordinating safeguarding procedures within a multidisciplinary team, you'll ensure there is a robust training strategy and training programme in place to meet all educational/training requirements across both Acute and Community settings.
- As an excellent communicator with the ability to provide accurate written and verbal reports, you'll contribute to the Trusts Safeguarding Governance Groups and sub-groups and develop or make changes to safeguarding policies, mental health, learning disability and Mental Capacity Act procedures, work plans and reports.
- You'll act as a link between the Trust and partner mental Health Trusts to ensure a truly integrated service and ensuring robust governance arrangements are in place supporting full accountability for quality performance.
- Lastly, it goes without saying, you'll demonstrate exemplar personal standards of conduct and behaviour, providing effective clinical leadership and act as a role model for all staff across MFT in all areas.
