Job summary

The Digital Trainer role provides IT training to internal staff and other users who use the Trust's Hive Epic EPR. This includes classroom and ad-hoc training for the Trust's EPR system and also training for other IT applications in use across the Trust such as Office365 and digital dictation.

The WTWA Hive Epic Trainers will provide support to WTWA through the Optimisation phase of HIVE and to help support the optimisation of Hive across all of the WTWA sites. With a particular focus on outpatient workflows.

The post holder will be required to support the Associate Director of Digital Transformation and Associate Medical Director and WTWA Digital Leads to maintain oversight of all and a detailed understanding of the Hive Training.

They should possess excellent communication and prioritisation skills in order to facilitate the continuous improvement of digital and information technology solutions in support of WTWA clinical service delivery.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver relevant and appropriate training in the use of Hive EPIC EPR digital system to individuals and staff groups
  • Provide follow up support to staff in the workplace after training if
  • To lead scheduled classroom-based training, travelling across sites as
  • To lead scheduled video-based training as required
  • Work with the IT Service Management function to ensure issues identified via reported incidents are addressed via training
  • Ensure feedback from staff is used to inform systems and applications development and changes
  • Use training materials and documentation and ensure this is regularly updated
  • Prepare training schedules, book users into training and advise staff on their training
  • Liaise with stakeholder Service Managers and problem solving when visiting
  • Keep records of all training provided as instructed and produce training outcome
  • Use all opportunities to inform and educate staff about technology, software applications and training opportunities/benefits.
  • Ensure that all trainers use IT equipment
  • Support Training Needs Assessment processes where appropriate

  • Degree level qualification and/or equivalent experience of working in the NHS.
  • Post graduate qualification in teaching or training qualification or significant experience of training at a senior level.
  • Evidence of achievement in the use of IT and software applications
  • At least 2 years working in a training capacity, preferably with EPIC EPR
  • High level of expertise around the Microsoft Office suite (365) and Windows Operating system
