Job summary

The post-holder will act as a Mortuary Support Worker and Transport Driver in both the Adult & Paediatric Mortuaries.

The post holder will transfer deceased patients in the Private Ambulance across all Mortuary sites within MFT as instructed by senior mortuary staff.

The post-holder will liaise sensitively with relatives of deceased. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

The post holder will be expected to cover a range of duties which includes receipt and release of deceased, dealing with bereaved relatives, facilitating viewings and general cleaning duties (this list is not exhaustive).

There will be an on-call commitment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will transfer deceased patients in the Private Ambulance across all Mortuary sites within MFT for post mortem as instructed by senior mortuary staff .

The post holder will be expected to cover a range of duties which includes:

Receipt and release of deceased patients

Dealing with bereaved relatives

Facilitate family visits

General mortuary cleaning duties

Work cross site as instructed by a senior member of staff
