Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within MFT Voluntary Services. We are looking , for an Assistant Voluntary Services Manager to support the recruitment and management of volunteers across all MFT sites. Based at Wythenshawe hospital, and with travel required to all sites, this post would ideally suit candidates seeking personal development in managerial experience.

The role

Volunteers play an important role here at MFT, supporting our patients and visitors, and making our hospitals truly welcoming and friendly environments. From meeting and greeting to supporting nursing colleagues on wards, their contribution is vital -- as is the team that recruits, trains, motivates and supports them. You'll assist the Voluntary Services Manager with every aspect of coordinating voluntary services, helping our volunteers to offer their best to the Trust and to get the most from their roles. This includes information gathering, record-keeping and reporting, as well as organising volunteer social events and recognition schemes. You will also oversee , together with the respective Chair's of a number of individual partner charity organisations linked to MFT, the recruitment of their Charity volunteers.

Main duties of the job

Together with colleagues based at Oxford Road Campus and North Manchester General Hospital, you will play an active role in the delivery of the Trust's Voluntary Services Strategy 2022-2025, Investing in Volunteers quality standard, and new volunteer initiatives - St John's Ambulance NHS Cadets and Walking with the Wounded.

Skills & knowledge required

Experience in a healthcare setting with a good understanding of the NHS is preferred, although not essential. You will have good organisational and administration skills, including the ability to follow detailed instructions. You'll also have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to inspire both confidence from managers and commitment from volunteers.
