Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility at Wythenshawe Hospital. You will be responsible for providing clerical support to the research team; including reception duties, use of the electronic patient records to manage patient flow in and out of the research department, booking of patient appointments, preparing patient expenses, using basic databases/trackers and other general office/reception administration duties.
Main duties of the job
You must be hard working, possess good oral and written communication skills, have good computer skills and be flexible to the needs of the department. This post is varied and we therefore seek a self motivated person with good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Reception Duties
- Greet young people , families and other visitors attending thereception area, ascertain their requirements and respond tothose requirements accordingly
- Ensure all new patients are provided with questionnaires
- Maintain the reception and waiting area to an orderly state atall times.
- Maintain the confidentiality, safety and security of thereception area.
- To enter clinic attendances and outcome onto HIVEClerical Duties
- Contribute to the administrative / secretarial service byundertaking copy typing as required
- Book appointments, update attendances.
- Receive and distribute incoming faxes / mail and emails toappropriate members of the team.
- Undertake filing and photocopying as required
- Distribution and sending of post
- Message taking and telephone calls.
- Filing of investigations/medical records, reports andphotocopying.
- In the standardised format, create clinical case notes for newpatients.
