Job summary

This post involves; support to senior colleagues across Central Manchester CAMHS, liaison with community agencies, work in psychological assessment under supervision and participation in general duties across the CAMHS team.

The post holder will be expected to assist with the management of the current departmental databases, develop new systems as required, analyse information and present results to the clinical team.

The post holder will also be expected to assist the qualified Psychologists and other colleagues in the preparation, instigation and evaluation of a variety of clinical, teaching and research tasks.

The post holder will act under the supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist and will be given appropriate tuition to enable the successful performance of clinical and other duties. These may include contributing to the running and evaluation of parenting groups and other interventions.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to support the existing Core CAMHS Team within Central Manchester, under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.

As an Assistant Psychologist within the team you will be involved in undertaking assessments with children and young people, and families as well as supporting with the delivery of a parenting groups where applicable.

There will be opportunity for shadowing qualified psychologists in the team as well as co-working cases with qualified clinicians and providing therapeutic support where appropriate.

Your research and clinical audit skills will also be further developed through this post. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well established CAMHS services that is forward thinking, dynamic and offers a wide range of multidisciplinary CAMHS.
