Job summary

A fabulous opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and dynamic staff nurses to join our District Nursing team in Central Manchester based at the Gorton Hub.

We at Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO) bring together NHS Community Health Services and adult social care services in Central Manchester. As Integrated Neighbourhood teams, we are driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Central Manchester by working across organisational boundaries.

As a registered general nurse, you will be required to work as part of ourDistrict Nursing Service, providing skilled nursing care to adults in their own home and in a variety of settings within the community. You will work closely withGP services and the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, to ensure that patient care is effectively coordinated and demonstrating a positive impact on their life.We will be looking for proven leadership skills and the ability to work within a team as well as work autonomously. You will be an excellent communicator and be willing to work together with colleagues with colleagues as a part of the wider health and social care team.

Main duties of the job

To join us, you will need to demonstrate a keen interest in the field of Community Nursing and a desire to be a part of an integrated neighbourhood offer. Whilst community experience would be an advantage we are looking to recruit individuals who have relevant transferable skills and are keen to develop their career in the community setting. This posts requires effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be adaptable, reliable and approachable. You will have a sound knowledge of recent changes within the NHS and knowledge of the political drivers to provide care closer to home as part of a 'one Team' approach.

We are open to discussing a flexible working pattern. This could be a shift pattern of working or a fixed hours post from 18.5 hours - 37.5 hours and we are prepared to discuss how this would be worked across a 7 day pattern with the successful candidate.

Travel is an essential part of this role; it is essential that you possess a full driving license and have access to a car.
