Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as GIMS outpatient's clinic Sister / Charge Nurse. The post holder will join a team providing a comprehensive range of medical and surgical out-patient services for patients including general Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology, Nutrition, GI Physiology and Capsule Endoscopy as well as Upper Gastro-Intestinal surgery, Lower GI, Colorectal surgery, and Hepatobiliary surgery. We also offer liver fibroscan clinics and blood clinics. Services are delivered through our expert and caring clinical teams. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to have specialist training in Capsule Endoscopy.
Main duties of the job
You will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes. Reporting to the out-patient manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and development of specific clinics. The post holder will demonstrate a high level of autonomy to challenge inappropriate practice and must demonstrate sound clinical decisions. Responsible for providing advice to patients, visitors and staff across the organisation. This will include the provision of education and training to health care assistants, registered nurses and students.Additional responsibility as allocated by the out-patient manager.Deputy duties and departmental cover.We are looking for an ambitious individual with a desire to progress their career. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to undertake training in Capsule Endoscopy.
