Job summary
We are looking to appoint two committed Band 6 Directorate Accountants to work as a key members of our Finance Team for Estates & Facilities.
The Estates & Facilities Finance Team & CCMO colleagues act as the main points of contact between the Trust and its PFI partners in respect of commercial, contractual and financial issues, as well has providing financial support and advice to the Estates & Facilities Management Team, which provide the in-house services at certain sites. Whilst working as part of a Team providing financial support across all sites and services, the successful post holder will based at the Oxford Road Campus, predominantly providing support to the site but will also be required to travel across the group hospitals. You'll assist in developing the quality of financial information and support provided by the Department and be pro-active in the provision of financial information to managers, to explain finance departmental strategy and resolve queries. You'll also provide and distribute regular financial reports to strict deadlines, enabling proactive management of budgets.
The post holders will need to be flexible as the job description is likely to change as the Estates & Facilities Team are currently going through a re-structure.
Main duties of the job
- To ensure that financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and in order to provide information for statutory returns.
- To investigate financial enquiries, providing assistance & advice as required and to ensure that work is completed in line with financial timescales and legal requirements.
- Production of monthly financial information & reports.
- Assist in the application of contracts including PFI & calculation of the monthly PFI Unitary Payment and associated penalty deductions.
- Assist in the management and monitoring of variations and small works, including their financial impacts.
- Deputise for the Deputy Finance & Commercial Manager on Directorate finance matters and provide administrative support to the CCMO.
