Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a keen, enthusiastic, highly motivated solicitor or legal executive to join the Healthcare Legal Team at Manchester NHS Foundation NHS Trust.

The role is a full time post. This role provides essential legal support and advice as part of a busy team specialising in inquests and healthcare legal advice.

The role requires the postholder to manage a caseload of complex inquests, supervise junior members of the team and provide healthcare legal advice on a wide range of topics.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting to the role of Associate Head of Legal to join the newly formed specialist legal team providing support for inquests across the Trust. There will also be a requirement to provide healthcare legal advice and support to various sites across the Trust.

The role requires the postholder to manage a caseload of inquests, varying in complexity and involving the attendance at the Coroner's court on occasions, to represent the Trust. The role will require strong team working and supervision of junior members of the team. The postholder will need to provide advice on a wide range of healthcare legal matters, including supporting with Court of Protection and High Court applications. The postholder will be required to manage various key stakeholder relationships.

The role will report to the Specialty Head of Legal and provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge across a broad portfolio of inquest cases and advisory work, within a busy and supportive working environment.
