Post: Decontamination Assistant / Technician

Band 2: Part time 37 hours

Base: Treatment Centre, Withington Community Hospital

We are looking to recruit a Decontamination Assistant for our refurbished Endoscopy Decontamination Suite with previous Healthcare experience, in Endoscopy or a willingness to learn a new skill.

The post holder will be based in the Treatment Centre, Withington Community Hospital working the hours over 5 days

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake manual washing and reprocessing of endoscopes for the department and ENT department. The post holder will deliver clean Endoscopes to ENT department on site.

To undertake the manual cleaning and reprocessing of all endoscopes used by the service. Additional duties include stock rotation and house keeping duties for the department.

We are a small and friendly team who work together to deliver excellent patient care. We undertake a variety of surgical and endoscopy procedures under intravenous sedation and local anaesthetic.

You must be flexible and able to work between the hours 07.30-19.00, currently the unit is only open Mon-Fri and we occasionally operate adhoc Saturday or adhoc evening clinics.
