Job summary

The role of Clinical Educator will be to work alongside the senior nursing team within Endoscopy to ensure high quality, effective and safe care for all service users. The post holder is charged with ensuring the continuing education and training of all staff.

You will have the opportunity to work in our state of the art unit which opened in 2018 and also hosts The North West Endoscopy Training Academy. This role is key to support the department to maintain it's JAG accreditation status.

Main duties of the job

The Endoscopy Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and proactive leader to join us as our dedicated Endoscopy Clinical Educator.

Our procedures are varied and diverse and include diagnostics, therapeutics and surveillance, gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG insertion, bronchoscopy / EBUS, EUS/FNA, ERCP & Spyglass, HALO and DBE delivering high quality care to our patients.

We are looking for an individual with a keen interest in education and experience in endoscopy to work with our staff to develop their skills and knowledge.

Your remit will be to support staff within the Endoscopy unit but you will also have close working relationships with the wider team and Trust Clinical Educators.

Endoscopy experience is essential. Although not essential a teaching qualification is desirable and a proven record of formal or informal training is required.

Although the post holder will work primarily in the Endoscopy Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary, they will be expected to cover at TGH Endoscopy when required. MFT Endoscopy at both Manchester Royal Infirmary and Trafford General Hospital operate a 7-day service with core hours between 8am - 6pm.
