Deputy Finance Director

We're excited to be recruiting proactive, driven & innovative Deputy Director of Finances to lead the MRI and WTWA Finance Teams. This is key role in continuing the success of the team and supporting the delivery of excellent patient care. The Post Holder will have day to day responsibility for providing effective, professional and managerial leadership to the Finance function and ensuring a high-quality service is provided to the Hospital/MCS, implementing strategy and delivering outputs and services in line with the Trust's strategic and business objectives.

Main duties of the job

Essential for the candidate to hold a Professional Accountancy qualification (CCAB/CIMA) with current membership registration and be educated to master's degree level or an equivalent professional qualification along with significant management experience.

Main responsibilities:

  • Report the current financial position and forecasts of the Hospital/MCS in an accurate and timely manner to Senior Management, the Hospital/MCS Management Board and deliver all external and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Direct, lead, plan, organise and control resources to implement strategy. Monitor and review processes to assess function effectiveness.
  • Recruit, deploy, develop, train, review and motivate staff to fulfil the functional objectives. Promote optimum standards of professionalism and quality of service to meet customer needs within available resources.
  • Lead the business process for operational financial planning across the Organisation, including annual plan and longterm financial plans, assessment of future financial threats / opportunities and provide appropriate plans and actions to minimise risk and maximise opportunities.
  • Work closely with Executive / Divisional / Clinical Directors to deliver the corporate and Organisation objectives and embed those into an agreed annual and longer-term financial plan.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal MFT Group Hospitals / Managed Clinical Services (MCS) and other external bodies.
