Operational Director, NIHR Manchester CRF

The NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility is seeking a dynamic and motivated Operational Director to strategically lead the operational activities of this large multi-site CRF. The Manchester CRF currently comprises four sites around Manchester specialising in Paediatrics, Adult phase 1, Oncology and Respiratory trials and has recently received increased funding of £15.5M over the next 5 years. Our ambition is to expand the footprint of the CRF around Greater Manchester.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work with Professor Jacky Smith, the overall Director of the Manchester CRF and with the site Directors and Operational Managers across several NHS Trusts. This post will also work closely the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre with which the CRF shares posts and other research infrastructure in the city including the Greater Manchester CRN, Health Innovation Manchester and the University of Manchester.

The post holder will be a member of the MFT Research and Innovation (R&I) Senior Management Team and will report into the Managing Director for R&I.
