Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join Elmwood Ward, contributing to the delivery of a 24hour, sevenday acute inpatient dementia care service. Working under the supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leaders, you will adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and all relevant professional standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for the holistic assessment of patient needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of personalised programmes of care. You will work collaboratively with patients, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that individual goals are understood and achieved. You will provide highquality, evidencebased care and, when required, take charge of the ward to support safe and effective service delivery.
Professional growth is supported through participation in regular supervision, mandatory and rolespecific training, and the use of reflective practice to identify and meet ongoing learning needs. As an active member of the unit, you will also take a lead responsibility for an allocated project or subject area, contributing to service development and promoting best practice across the team.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to:
Partake in clinical and management supervision and attend all developmental training sessions.
Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.
Adhere to those stipulations as defined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leader.
Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.
Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.
Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.
