Immunisations Support Worker

Job summary

The School Age Immunisation Service (SAI) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the team to help support the delivery of the service and to engage with those in the local community to increase the awareness of the school age immunisation programmes.

Some of the tasks you will be supporting with will be:

  • Helping to prepare clinical equipment for sessions
  • Creating and sharing promotional materials for parents/carers and other stakeholders
  • Engaging with people from the local community to help increase awareness of the school age immunisation programmes
  • Supporting parents/carers with the completion of the electronic forms
  • Organising engagement and support sessions in community locations
  • Helping at vaccination sessions
  • Delivery of the nasal flu vaccinations

The service works in a variety of community locations across Portsmouth, from Health Centres, Schools, Family Hubs and even in the patients own home. The ability to travel between different sites in a day is essential.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a skill mix team to supporting in delivery of the School Age Immunisation (SAI) Programme.

Communicate and engage with stakeholders in the community about the SAI programmes

To raise awareness of and help collect responses for the SAI programmes

To effectively prioritise and manage own workload whilst maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy at all times both independently or as part of a team.

To carry out other duties as necessary to meet the changing needs of HIOWH NHS Trust, in accordance with management requirements and appropriate to banding

All duties will be carried out within the Trusts Information Governance, recording, and data sharing procedures and guidance

Deliver nasal flu vaccination under supervision of registrant.
