Are you a RGN who is keen to learn more about mental health whilst providing physical health care and oversight to patients with severe and enduring mental illness?
Southfield is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and talented Nurse Senior with strong leadership skills to join the team and lead on the physical health on the input, undertaking duties of a Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse.
Southfield low secure unit is looking to recruit a RGN to support the patients with their physical health care by way of observations and investigations. Working alongside the multi-disciplinary team you will be overseeing patients' physical health care, in liaison with primary health services to ensure parity of esteem. You will also have an oversight of referral to specialist services and support the upskilling and develop of physical health expertise of mental health nurses, including care planning.
To fulfil the requirements of this role you need to hold a professional registration Registered General Nursing and competent in completing high quality physical health care. The RGN will oversee the physical health provision within the unit with the autonomy to design service to best meet the needs of our patients.
Main duties of the job
To support the Clinical Ward Manager, Modern Matron and the wider leadership team at to develop and improve the physical health provision within Southfield. Working collaboratively to design the service to best meet the needs of our patients and develop the physical health expertise's of the RMN's within Southfield. To act as a positive transformational change lead, proficiently delivering on improving service users' outcomes and the performance of the unit.
The post holder will be expected to manage, maintain and improve a number of systems that will work alongside Trust strategies and Specialist Services agenda's, including the patient incident system, quality improvement strategy and patient experience improvement.
The Post Holder will provide expertise in their own discipline to the wider team and area. They will be expected to work autonomously and create strong working relationships with the service leads, the post holder will need to be creative and flexible, whilst maintaining a focus on improving patient outcomes.
