Job summary

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Podiatry service are looking to recruit full and part time Community Podiatrists. These posts are open to applications from HCPC registered Podiatrists looking to join the NHS, and also to newly qualified Podiatrists. We offer mentorship enabling you to fine tune your clinical skills which will help you to develop into the dynamic Podiatrist you want to be.

The successful applicants will join either our Southampton or Portsmouth areas and will be supported to fulfil the Trusts well-established preceptorship program. You will also have the opportunity to rotate through our specialist service disciplines including biomechanics, nail surgery, 'At risk foot' community clinics and domiciliary visits, and observations within MDT's in the acute hospital setting.

Main duties of the job

Provide reflective assessment, diagnosis and treatment for conditions of the foot, ankle and related structures to improve mobility, reduce pain and maintain tissue viability.

Work within a team and develop professional links across care pathways.

Develop communication skills with a wide range of carers, health and social care professionals to ensure holistic and 'joined up' care. Understand the principles of negotiating care with patients and professionals to achieve the most effective outcomes desired by the patient.

Provide treatment programmes within the Service Level Agreement as well as provide a high quality fee paying podiatry service for low risk foot health conditions not included within funded SLA's by local NHS Commissioners.

Work within a specific income generation team and develop professional links across Solent NHS podiatry services across a range of clinical settings.

Responsible for cash handling and finances within standing financial instructions
