Nursing Associate Apprentice

Job summary

Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust delivering care on the Isle of Wight is delighted to be able to offer a Registered Nurse Associate Apprenticeship.

Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to become caring, compassionate professionals who uphold the values of the NHS and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) professional standards for Nursing Associates.

Through undertaking a variety of diverse clinical placements, combined with a rigorous academic programme, our apprentice nurses will develop and deliver skilled, evidence-based care in partnership with patients, families, and communities.

Upon successful completion of the programme, the Registered Nurse Associate Apprentice will become a Registered Nurse Associate, accountable to the Nursing and Midwifery Council and (NMC) Code. They will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered Nurse Associate.

Main duties of the job

*Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.

*Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.

*Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.

*Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting.

*Work with their practice assessor and supervisor/s to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practice skills within the workplace, while on placements and through attending the Registered Nurse Associate Apprenticeship programme.

*Provide feedback to assist in the evaluation of the Registered Nurse Associate Apprenticeship programme.

  • *Achieved Maths and English GCSE grade A-C (4-9) or equivalent, for example Functional Skills Maths and English Level 2.
  • *Evidence of completed study applicable to Healthcare at Level 2.
  • Examples include Care Certificate, NVQ or similar, care worker development programme etc..
  • *Right to Work in UK for the full duration of the Apprenticeship, and meeting all entry criteria defined by the University and National Apprenticeship Framework.
  • *Satisfactory references from your Manager or Academic Tutor covering the last 3 years .

  • *Evidence of recent healthcare experience in an appropriate setting on a regular basis such as a health care, social care, voluntary, informal or independent provider.
