Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within our Finance Department to appoint a Finance Assistant.
We have a full time, permanent role (37.5 hours) and also a part time (30 hours) fixed term role (12 months). Please indicate on your application which role you would like to be considered for.
Financial Services is a dynamic, enthusiastic team looking for an energetic and hardworking individual to join us. The appointment would suit applicants who either want to study, or have started studying AAT and have the drive, enthusiasm and determination to succeed.
You will be undertaking a wide range of financial activities within the Financial Services team and report to a Financial Services Accountant. As a whole, the team provides a shared financial service. It has responsibility for overseeing routine transactional processes ensuring sound financial control within the Trust's main exchequer accounts as well as its Charitable Funds. It also supports the Divisional Accounting teams, budget managers across the organisation, and produces the Trust's annual statutory accounts. Provision has been made for regularly supporting a management accounting team, thereby gaining some experience of a management accounting role.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to provide comprehensive, professional accounting support into the Trust's Financial Services department which has responsibility for overseeing routine transactional processes to ensure sound financial control to the Trust's main exchequer accounts as well as its Charitable Fund.
This will include the following activities under supervision:
- Reconciliation of control accounts
- Raising of sales ledger invoices in accordance with a regular billing schedule as well as on an ad-hoc basis.
- Provide assistance for distributing invoices and getting them approved on the payables ledger promptly
- Support to the Trust's Treasury management activities, including cashiering, patient affairs, and aspects of credit control
- Support the department by obtaining backup for all relevant to areas of the department's operation and ensuring it is filed appropriately and promptly
- Support the monthly performance management (budgetary) reporting cycle by analysing and entering charges from consolidated invoices across multiple budget centres
- Support the monthly performance management (budgetary) reporting cycle by entering accrual and prepayment adjustments as required
- Supporting the annual accounts and monthly reporting process
