Job summary
Fareham Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit a Medical Secretary to join our friendly multi-disciplinary team.
Based in the heart of Fareham Town Centre, our location is served well by public transport, with plenty of nearby facilities and free on-site parking.
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Consultant Psychiatrist and supporting medical team. You will need to have a confident, warm, and professional manner; and you will need to be:
-IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
-Undertake administrative tasks including :
- Data inputting
- Word processing
- Minute taking
- Co-ordinating meetings
- Cross cover/support for the secretarial team during periods of leave and sickness.
We recognise administration as a profession in its own right and there are a range of internal courses offered to support staff with their development.

Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive administration and secretarial services to the Community Mental Health Team. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of their own workload and delegated decisions/actions, as deemed appropriate by the Administration Manager/ CMHT Manager.
The post holder will be required to work as a part of a team, with other Medical/Team Secretaries and provide cross cover during periods of staff absence. The needs of the service user will be the utmost priority. The principle of high-quality customer care is at the heart of this role.
