The Clinical Practice Educator Lead is a key role within the skill mixed, Community Nursing service provided in Southampton. As a key part of the clinical leadership team within this specialist service, the Clinical Practice Educator Lead will work closely with Integrated Service Matrons, Consultant Practitioner and Clinical Managers to ensure the delivery of high quality nursing care as part of a safe, comprehensive and sustainable community nursing service and relevant integrated services. They will lead on the development and delivery of training, clinical skills and the education/development of all clinical staff within the service, including clear knowledge of individual and team educational needs to assist with planning and access to opportunities.
As an experienced Community Nurse practitioner, the post holder will be expected to support and lead an environment of continuous learning, quality improvement, develop clinical practice and care pathways designed to ensure that delivery of care is regularly reviewed ensuring CQC compliance and embedding NICE and other quality benchmarks. This will include identification of elements of service delivery, in conjunction with the wider leadership team, that requires improvement and lead in development of relevant training and delivery to address. This is to include leadership in the exploration and development of Clinical Practice Educator delivery to wider Southampton Integrated Services.
Main duties of the job
*Act as a resource of specialised community nursing expertise providing advice for other professionals.
*Lead the Clinical Practice Educator Team in the delivery, and development, of programme to support the education of all clinical staff for community clinical practice.
*In partnership with the Trust Educator In Practice, Learning and Development and fellow clinical and practice educators, you will lead in the development and delivering programmes of education that embeds the right skills, behaviours and offers the appropriate supervision and training, to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement in line with service strategy. This will include addressing areas requiring improvement.
*Responsible for ensuring quality clinical education delivery which is underpinned by evidence based practice.
*Promote an environment in which teaching, learning, staff development and evidence-based practice is actively encouraged and demonstrated.
