Job summary
We are recruiting for a Clinical Specialist/Occupational Therapist Team Lead to join our team on the Isle of Wight.
This is an opportunity for you to lead and develop OT's across the service in Community Rehabilitation in order to deliver the Island's rehabilitation strategy. This will require liaison with Social Services, Health and Third Sector Partners on a strategic level to be proactive in joint working. You will have a designated caseload as a specialist clinician. This allows a more clinical focus at senior level on rehabilitation across the whole Integrated Locality Therapy Service.

A combination of relevant specialist skills, experience and knowledge in a wide range of conditions and settings.

Demonstrated high-level written and oral (including telephone) communication skills
A background of being self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
Knowledge and understanding of the application of quality care and evidence-based practice
Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills
Ability to work within the Values and Visions framework of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
A genuine wish to live on a beautiful Island (with good ferry connections to the mainland)
Some of the key duties are:
To manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, using evidence based/person centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To provide and develop an Occupational Therapy service to a specific area and contribute to related policies
To act as a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist and Team Lead within this area and the Community Rehab Occupational Therapy Service
To provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal within a designated area/team
To lead clinical audits and undertake research
