Job summary

Are you a highly motivated psychology graduate, with post-graduate clinical experience, interested in taking on a new challenge? The role will be working within the Blake Day Service, a new, innovative day programme for young people with eating disorders. At the core of this programme is a systemic approach, working with young people, families and the wider network.

Working with a comprehensive multidisciplinary team of clinicians, and under supervision from clinical psychologists, you will help to deliver the day programme for young people. Psychological therapy is a key intervention and highly valued in the service.

You should have a good honours degree in Psychology (2:1) or better, and you should have a desire to pursue Doctoral Training in Clinical Psychology. Experience in either CAMHS, eating disorders, or both is advantageous. The psychological therapies team has links with the doctoral courses at both the University of Southampton and the University of Surrey.

We reserve the right to close the application period sooner than advertised in the event of a high volume of applicants. Early application is advised.

Main duties of the job

Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is previous experience of research, audit projects or service evaluation. As you progress in the role, it will include administration of psychometric measures, scoring and interpreting findings, and reporting on overall measures for the service. You will be supported to facilitate CBT and CFT-based therapy groups, and to deliver 1:1 psychological intervention.
