Hampshire and Isle of Wight Young Person Early Detection Service (HYPED)
The HYPED Service is a new and exciting service that works with individuals from the age of 14- 35 at high risk of developing psychosis (ARMS). The post-holder will undertake assessments including the CAARMS, and psychological assessment and formulation. They will deliver CBT for mood disorders, trauma and CBT for unusual experiences. They will provide Family Interventions, a structured therapy for clients and their families to improve knowledge about psychosis and communication skills. They will receive training on the CAARMS tool, FI and additional ad hoc training in relevant areas.
The applied psychologist / CBT therapist will have the opportunity to provide supervision to a CAP and potentially to trainee CBT therapists or trainee clinical psychologists.
The post-holder will be expected to promote destigmatising information about psychosis and to increase the accessibility of mental health services. They will have opportunities to engage in audit, evaluation and research as well as co-produced service development to shape the service.

Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialist psychological assessment, CAARMS assessments (assessment of At Risk Mental State), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Family Interventions to individuals with an "At Risk Mental State" (ARMS). This post will be working in the ARMS pathway within the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service and liaising closely with EIP colleagues if patients are suspected of experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
The successful applicant will provide psychological assessments, formulation, and consultation with patients and their families as well as delivery of CBT and Family Interventions. They will be responsible for supervising and / or line managing a Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP) to provide psychosocial interventions. The applicant will be willing to undertake CAARMS supervisor training and training in Family Interventions.
Working as an autonomous practitioner working within the boundaries of professional guidelines and the organisational structure of the service's policies. The post holder will place an emphasis on co-production and demonstrate an attitude which respects and values patients and their carers and the core values of the trust: compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.
Clinical advice, supervision, teaching, support and communication are integral to the role. The post-holder will be expected to promote destigmatising information about psychosis and to increase the accessibility of mental health services.
