Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to become the team leader for the Occupational Therapy Team at Elmleigh Hospital, covering Ruby and Sapphire Wards.
We are looking for a flexible and creative candidate who has excellent clinical and leadership skills who can work in an inpatient setting supporting individuals' recovery, whilst providing guidance and supervision to the rest of the team and leading on service development projects.
The candidate should be motivated to work in a fast-paced mental health setting and have both clinical and leadership experience to bring to this role.
Main duties of the job
Manage designated occupational therapy service (within Acute Care Pathway-South East)
Be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of occupational therapy within designated services- Ruby and Sapphire Wards.
Provide specialist advice to occupational therapy staff on service users with complex needs, using evidence based, person centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
Provide professional leadership to a designated teams including recruitment, supervision and development of occupational therapy staff within the multi-disciplinary context
Provide specialist occupational therapy input to planning, development, and evaluation of clinical services within Elmleigh holding responsibility for defined projects
To be responsible for the occupational therapy budget
Be responsible for departmental policy and service development and interpreting related codes of practice, policies, and professional guidelines relevant to forensic specialist area
Work as part of the Operational Management Team in the management, development and improvement of designated services
