Job summary
To be part of a team delivering the immunisation programme to school children in schools across Portsmouth, and Southampton for Solent NHS Trust. You will be expected to relay key health promotion messages to children, families, and staff in education. Contribute to the planning and giving of the immunisations and rolling out the programme across the cities. You may be required to work flexible hours to ensure good coverage at times convenient to the public.
To work with the School Aged Immunisation Team in promoting good health in school age children
Community engagement by working to support the uptake of immunisations by supporting parents in understanding immunisations, promotion of the programmes, working with schools and supporting with the completion of consent forms.
Deliver nasal flu vaccination under supervision of registrant, within the scope of Standard Operating Procedure.
Promote children, family and young people participation in service delivery and development through feedback and engagement sessions.
To ensure positive uptake of vaccination programmes to protect the community from disease.
Main duties of the job
Deliver nasal flu vaccination under supervision of registrant, within the scope of SOP.
To work as part of a skill mix team to supporting in delivery of the School Age Immunisation Programme.
To effectively prioritise and manage own workload whilst maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy at all times both independently or as part of a team.
To carry out other duties as necessary to meet the changing needs of Solent NHS Trust, in accordance with management requirements and appropriate to banding
All duties will be carried out within the Trusts Information Governance, recording, and data sharing procedures and guidance
