Job summary

We are seeking a specialist pharmacist with experience of working on Acute Mental Health wards, to provide an advanced level clinical pharmacy service to our Mental Health units.

Are you an autonomous worker with proven communication and interpersonal skills who would enjoy working in conjunction with the clinical pharmacy leads and others in the team to deliver an efficient, high quality, professional and well-coordinated clinical pharmacy, and dispensing support service?

The work will include provision of prescribing and medicines management advice to consultant teams, nursing and AHP personnel and patients at ward/clinic level.

Main duties of the job

If successful, you would be expected to:

*Act as a specialist pharmacist providing advanced level clinical pharmacy service to specified clinical specialities involving complex/high risk patient populations.

*Utilise pharmaceutical expertise, working in partnership with patients, carers and healthcare professionals to minimise medicines-related harm and facilitating medicines optimisation

*To give specialist clinical pharmacy advice to the MH division

*To participate in the pharmaceutical services to the MH division

*To monitor drug usage and promote cost effective prescribing within the division

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

Desirable

  • Postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma or equivalent experience

  • Post registration experience in hospital or community pharmacy
  • Experience of working in a constantly changing environment
  • Experience of ward based Clinical Pharmacy (Acute Mental Health Wards)
