Job summary

This is a fixed term opportunity until 31st March 2026.

Due to an expansion of the Multi-Agency Stalking Partnership, we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and ambitious Highly Specialist Psychologist to be part of this unique and highly innovative service, working with stalking perpetrators and those who manage them, across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

This role is a rare chance to be part of this award-winning specialist service, providing unique opportunities to develop your skills and your career in the cutting-edge specialism of the psychology of stalking. Working alongside experts in the field, the post also provides a unique chance to develop your clinical skills in working with perpetrators who present with a variety of personality issues and mental health needs.

This role requires previous experience of working within forensic mental health services. However, expert knowledge of, and experience of working with, stalking perpetrators is not required. You will receive comprehensive training regarding working with stalking perpetrators, including training in using the Stalking Risk Profile and relevant therapies.

The service is based in Ravenswood House, Fareham, but the work is delivered in a range of NHS and non-NHS premises (e.g. Probation offices) across Hampshire. There will be the opportunity for home working via virtual means as part of the working week. Personal wellbeing is valued within the team and flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The role of a Highly Specialist Psychologist in the Multi Agency Stalking Partnership (MASP) is to be part of a specialist team who provide expert consultation, formulation, and intervention services in relation to service users within the criminal justice system who have been charged with, or convicted of, a stalking offence.

This innovative service is at the forefront of psychological work with stalking perpetrators and as such, subject specific prior expertise is not required. A commitment to developing knowledge and skills regarding working with stalking perpetrators, through training, reading and other forms of continual professional development, is expected. The role will require adaptation of known psychological principles and techniques to assist in the continued development of a range of interventions and approaches to manage offenders in this field.

The aim is to ensure that intervention and management of people who have offended is psychologically informed through training, consultation, and direct input.

The expected outcomes of the service are to reduce repeat offending, improve psychological wellbeing, increase access to services, and to develop a workforce across the criminal justice system with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and confidence in working with this population.

The service will be based in Ravenswood House Medium Secure Unit, but the work will be delivered in a range of NHS and non-NHS premises (for example Probation offices) across Hampshire.
