Job summary
Cherry Ward is a female-only ward for patients with acute mental health needs. The ward, which has been open since the summer of 2021, was designed in conjunction with over 100 patients to develop an environment that is supportive for the patients who use the service. The ward provides areas for patients, carers & staff & has a sensory room, art room & therapeutic corner for our service users.
We have opportunities for caring & passionate Senior Healthcare Support Workers who share the trusts vision to help individuals recover to a life beyond mental health. With a patient centred approach, we believe great Senior Healthcare Support Workers don't just treat illness, they change lives.

We know how important a work life balance is & we are open to flexible working. There is an expectation to work unsocial hours & to meet the needs of the service, but we welcome & consider applications for part time working & condensed hours.
Main duties of the job
To provide physical and psychological care to service users in accordance with the specified plan of clinical care.
To carry out duties as designated by the person in charge.
To accurately record patient/service user information.
To provide support to relatives/carers

The transformation will happen in staggered stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
