We are looking for an caring and enthusiastic individual to work on an acute older persons mental health ward. You would be working on an acute mental mental health ward for older persons, including organic and functional diagnosis.
The candidate must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues within the wider multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
This role can be part of a career pathway, which includes Senior Health Care Support Worker and the Associate Practitioner role.
You will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team alongside service users to promote independence and daily living skills, including personal hygiene, diet and fluids, encouraging them to engage in social or leisure activities as identified within their Care Plan.
This role will provide support in management of risk, developing therapeutic relationships, supporting people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Act as a role model for team members, supporting new or less experienced colleagues.
This role will assist and support qualified staff and carry out assigned tasks as directed, without supervision. This will include housekeeping duties where required.
This role will demonstrate excellent communication skills, using them to engage, persuade or negotiate with clients with complex, at times challenging needs to ensure they are provided with the most appropriate care and support.
