Job summary

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CMHT in Basingstoke, Mid & North Hampshire Division. The post holder will be based at The Bridge Centre, Basingstoke and will become part of a team of consultants working in the Community.

Main duties of the job

This post is for a full time Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health to join our North Hampshire CMHT based in Basingstoke. It has arisen due to the relocation of one of the team's consultants. The post holder will work alongside a number of substantive consultants and associate specialists and a multi-disciplinary team.

The division is undergoing a community mental health transformation, aligning our teams and consultant posts with Primary Care Networks linked with a range of community services based on local population need. This includes primary care additional roles (ARs) posts providing a primary care mental health team to bridge the gap between GP care and secondary mental health care. This team involves a mixture of wellbeing workers, social prescribers, nursing, GP, therapy and pharmacists.

We are looking for an enthusiastic psychiatrist who is keen to be part of the CMHT service at this exciting time, offering sound clinical care to our local population and effective clinical leadership to the team. The post-holder will join 5 other senior medical colleagues within the two North Hampshire and Basingstoke CMHTs covering the Basingstoke and North Hampshire area with a catchment of approx. 170,000, aligned with 6 PCNs.

The post aligns with local Primary Care Networks to facilitate closer working with primary care colleagues and hence responsiveness to our local population.
