An exciting opportunity has arisen within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust to appoint motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse or Midwife to join the Safeguarding Children Team. Although a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor or School Nurse) qualification is not essential it is desirable. The post holders will join our dynamic Safeguarding Children Team, contributing in the delivery of the Safeguarding Agenda in the Hampshire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
The post holders will work within the health team as part of a multi-agency integrated team, assessing notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0-19 that are received by the MASH. The MASH process includes searching for and collating health information from a range of NHS providers, both locally and further afield. With due regard to patient confidentiality, the MASH professional will interpret and share the information that is necessary to safeguard and/or promote the welfare of a child. The post-holders will be expected to contribute to a multi-agency analysis of risk on a case-by-case basis and be the point of health expertise around safeguarding.
This post is 0.9 WTE worked as 5 days 9-5pm one week and 4 days 9-5pm the next. Please see job description for full details.
Main duties of the job
*The post holder will be based in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7JL
*The post holder will contribute to the health component of the MASH & HRDA services in conjunction with partner agencies in order to ensure that effective, integrated, and well-informed decision-making leads to early help and safeguarding
*To provide a service that safeguards and promotes the welfare of vulnerable children, young people, and their families by taking a multi-agency approach to address need and lead to improved outcomes, whilst managing the reputation of the Trust
*To provide specialist advice and support to all MASH agencies on a day-to-day basis, as required
*To support the development and implementation of safeguarding practice across Southern Health Foundation Trust (SHFT) ensuring effective multi-agency liaison meeting the statutory requirements
*To support SHFT's Safeguarding Clinical Support Team in performing their safeguarding duties and responsibilities through advice to operational services, escalation of concerns to / from other agencies and effective feedback and support from safeguarding meetings and forums
*To assist in the audit and reporting of safeguarding processes, actions and outcomes across the Trust and the multi-agency arena
