This is a diverse role within a forward thinking and innovative team responsible for the training, education and support of all staff with matters relating to the deteriorating patient and resuscitation.

This post is vital role in leading, coordinating, and enhancing our resuscitation efforts across the Trust. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate resuscitation related training programs, ensuring staff are equipped with the latest techniques and knowledge.

In this dynamic position, there is opportunity to:

Lead Training Programs: Design and deliver high-quality Basic Life Support and Immediate Life Support courses to empower staff with the skills and confidence to respond effectively in critical situations

Drive Clinical Excellence: Collaborate staff to review resuscitation protocols, ensuring best practices are followed and standards are consistently met or exceeded

Innovate and Inspire: Embrace resuscitation science by integrating latest research and technological advancements into training and clinical practice

Promote a Culture of Safety: Champion a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety by conducting audits, debriefs and performance feedback to identify areas for development

Main duties of the job

A core part of the role is developing, delivering and evaluating training programmes with robust governance to satisfy Trust training requirements. Alongside this, bespoke activities such as workshops and skills sessions are provided to support clinical services. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team as it develops its simulation provision, across the Trust. It is also encouraged to teach other subject matter as appropriate to background and experience i.e. cannulation.

Supporting clinical teams is important and this can be by providing subject matter expert advice, debriefing post incident or advising on equipment requirements.

Other elements to the role include audit, quality improvement, policy development and attending local and national meetings.

The post holder will work within a team but will work independently and is actively encouraged to bring innovation and ideas which they can lead on. The post holder will also work across other teams, such as digital, clinical training, clinical audit and the clinical teams.

Continuous professional development is essential for this role to enhance knowledge and skills in resuscitation science and education. There is opportunity to attend conferences and workshops to network with peers as well as attend internal and external courses. There is also support to continue in clinical practice.

The post involves travel across the Trust and potentially across the border occasionally, including the Isle of Wight.

Essential

  • Registered Health Care Professional i.e. nurse, paramedic etc. with current registration with NMC, HCPC as appropriate
  • Teaching qualification (or working towards) such as PTTLS, AET or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of recent and ongoing personal development

Desirable

  • Experience of training in a community, learning disability, social care and mental health Trust would be advantageous
  • Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support/Immediate Life Support teaching experience and qualification

  • Experience of working in acute care environment (pre-hospital or in hospital)
  • Experience of mentoring and/ or training other healthcare professionals
