Job summary

Our Perinatal Mental Health Service Team -- Mother and Baby Unit currently has an exciting opportunity to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join the team.

Our Mother and Baby Unit provide 24/7 specialist care and treatment for mothers with their babies when they are suffering with mental illness.

On the Mother and Baby Unit you will be joining an extremely supportive, nurturing, and motivated team. We are consistently striving to improve our service and provide the best possible care for the mothers and babies we support and their wider families. We value every member of our team, our childcare practitioners are a vital part of our MDT and ensure the voice of the baby remains central to all decision making, your input and contribution will be listened to and valued.

Main duties of the job

The Mother and Baby Unit provide inpatient care and treatment for mothers with their babies when they are suffering with mental illness. The Nursery Nurse role involves providing high quality of care and perinatal support to antenatal and post-natal mothers in the ward.

This role involves shifts work, weekends and nights.

Your main responsibilities are:

*Working as a team player.

*Provide perinatal support to antenatal and post-natal mothers in the ward.

*Provide high quality of care and emotional support at all times.

*Participate in assessment of needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for mothers and their babies.

*To maintain our service users' confidentiality and adhere the Trust's Policies and Procedures.

*Help supporting families to understand baby's perspective.

*To provide practical Baby Care.

*Support families with common baby issues, and signposting as needed.
