Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for three Carers Support Workers to join our teams in one of the three Community Mental Health Teams in Southampton -- Central, East, and West.
We want to ensure that Carers are recognised for the essential role they play in the lives of our service users. They are often the people with the most knowledge and understanding of our service users, yet they can be left feeling invisible and ignored. The successful candidate will assist the team in supporting and improving the wellbeing of the families and carers of our service users. You will need to be a compassionate, caring individual with a focus on recovery and a commitment to providing collaborative carer centred care.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will assist the team in supporting and improving the wellbeing of families and carers. You will need to be a compassionate, caring individual with a focus on recovery and a commitment to providing collaborative carer centred care.
The work is varied and interesting and there is a strong team approach ensuring good support for the successful applicant. The role requires lone working, use of initiative, safeguarding knowledge, a commitment to team working and carer empowerment. You will need knowledge of mental health problems and some experience of working with carers or in mental health.

The transformation will happen in staggered stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
