Job summary
Gosport and Fareham OPMH Team has an opportunity for a fulltime experienced Health Care Support Worker to join their friendly ream.

As part of the role, the candidate will be provided with training and a comprehensive induction programme to help them meet required competencies. At Southern Health we are keen to develop our staffs career in healthcare and provide support for further training and qualifications.
You will be working with in a multi-disciplinary team alongside Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinicians and Admin staff.
You will need access to your own car and a full clean driving licence. There are mileage payments for travel when using your own car for visits to patients as per the Southern Health policy.
Main duties of the job
To act as a member of MDT providing high-qualify care and advice to inpatients.
To record clinic observations
To carry out procedures as trained to do
To help assess, plan/implement and evaluate patient care under the supervision of the nurse in charge.
Plan allocated workload for shifts that promotes patient choice, cost efficiency and patient safety.
To be aware of changes in patient's conditions and act appropriately, reporting findings to the nurse in charge.
To ensure that all equipment used for patient care is in safe working order. To follow procedures and guidelines. To ensure equipment is serviced or replaced.
Encourage and promote independence according to patients ability.
To provided leadership role to band 2 HCSW
Promote working using recovery principals
Act as supervisor/mentor as delegated by ward manager

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
