Job summary

Are you a Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner looking for a new opportunity in an established MHST?

We have a vacancy in an established MHST in Gosport that requires a qualified Low Intensity Practitioner to support with Interventions, Whole School Approach and Consultations. You will be supported by High Intensity Therapists, Clinical team Lead and other EMHP's to pride the full MHST offer within the area.

As part of CAMHS you will have access to a wider multi- disciplinary team and career progression opportunities that include High Intensity training and Senior Wellbeing Practitioner status.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of a Mental Health Support Team in schools, providing a high quality, psychological therapy service to young people, their families or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the team by communicating effectively about the psychological care of clients, by contributing to the supervision of psychological practitioners and trainees and less experienced psychological therapists, and by participating in systematic clinical governance.

The transformation will happen in staggered stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

  • Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner course.
  • A further degree qualification or demonstrate the ability to work at degree level
  • (this will be assessed as a University entry requirement for the Band 4 EMHP Position)
  • Registered with the BABCP or BPS
  • (This registration process is new and there is transition period of 12 months from June 2021)
