Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to come and be part of our brand new adolescent Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.

If yes, then come join our new adolescent PICU team at our purpose built psychiatric intensive care unit for young people.

We are looking for passionate, dedicated and highly motivated individuals to be part of our person focused team at Tatchbury Mount. He you will have the opportunity to make a difference in a service that invests in you.

You will act as a positive role model who delivers the philosophy of the unit and the values of the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested and committed to delivering excellent care within a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.

Main duties of the job

To observe, report and record changes in the service user's physical health, mental health and behaviour.

To provide care as planned in the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

To provide social activities, emotional support and stability to service users to ensure effective engagement whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

To contribute in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluating care.

To create and maintain professional supportive relationships with all members of staff, with other professionals and agencies to enhance recovery.

To provide escort duties to the service user under the direction of the nurse in charge.

To carry out observations as per the individual care plans and service user needs, in line with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Policy.

To participate in and co-facilitate therapeutic and social engagement group work.
