Exercise Rehabilitation Practitioner

Job summary

Southern Health are looking to expand their MSK rehabilitation team. We are recruiting a Band 3 Exercise Rehabilitation Practitioner into a split role across Gosport war memorial hospital and Fareham community hospital. The rehabilitation team is forming a key part of our patient offer and we are delighted to be able to add another post to the team.

The successful applicant will be a keen exercise enthusiast and will ideally have experience at working with people or clients within an exercise or rehabilitation environment. They should be enthusiastic, a motivator and holistic in their approach. The main scope of this role is to work directly with patients in a 1:1 capacity or within a group setting to help them achieve their goals whilst promoting and educating them on the benefits of exercise in the long term.

Main duties of the job

In response to the NHS long term plan, Southern Health have built a strong rehabilitation team, service wide, to promote exercise, self management, and self care strategies for patients to improve their outcomes in the long term. Our team are also building strong links within the local communities to ensure that we can signpost patients to appropriate settings that will be able to support them further on discharge.

The Southern Health outpatient MSK service works closely with musculoskeletal specialists as well as our Consultant Physiotherapist. We receive both GP and Consultant Physiotherapy referrals.

We are committed to developing all our staff. You will receive regular supervision from one of our Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors. Training will be available on both a 1:1 basis and within your locality. You will also be invited to attend Trust-Wide Study days. Outside of the service, Southern Health also has a diverse programme of development opportunities to ensure you are fully equipped to work in this role.

The role is full time with 37.5 hours a week, we support flexible working and this can be discussed at interview.
