Single Point of Access - Mental Health Practitioner

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust delivers the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Hampshire. Hampshire CAMHS currently have a vacancy for a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the team as a band 6 Mental Health Practitioner (triage and assessment) within the Single Point of Access (SPA) for Hampshire. You will need to be registered with a Health or Social Care governing body, and have CAMHS or relevant Mental Health experience.

This will be a newly created centralised SPA team overseeing the front door to CAMHS and the triaging of referrals for the service, as opposed to the area-based approach. This is an exciting opportunity to take forward the development of a new team. The team base will be Eastleigh.

Hampshire CAMHS are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner that shares our enthusiasm, passion and commitment to work alongside colleagues to deliver a good quality timely service to young people and families in Hampshire, in collaboration with a strong supportive leadership team.

Main duties of the job

To develop and provide a quality, needs led service, as part of the CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA).

To take a leading role in the development of evidence-based care for the client group.

To support the SPA process by using excellent communication skills, in triaging and assessing the clinical need of cases as they enter the SPA.

To explore all possible avenues of appropriate support, available within the wider community.

Where appropriate, to formulate a plan for access and management within CAMHS (Getting Help, Getting More Help, Specialist Services) under the guidance of the Senior SPA Practitioners and SPA Clinical Team Manager.

To integrate the mental health agenda, build community resilience, support early identification of mental health concerns, and improve general mental wellbeing, through the delivery of training, consultation support, and advice.

To support colleagues via supervision, and within the SPA setting.

For further details please see job description.
