Job summary
We are recruit for the post of Modern Matron to join our well-established and innovative Paediatric Psychiatric Liaison Team. As the Modern Matron your role will be to ovsersee the operational element of the PPLT team. The team works 7 days a week and is planned to cover the hours of 8am-10pm within the acute trusts to support early assessment, intervention and discharge where possible of young people presenting with a MH crisis. The team is made up of a part time Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, nurses, social workers and we are looking to recruit a Specialist Dr to work with the Psychiatrist and to support the Urgent Assessment and Home Treatment team in the County. The team has administration support from a small team of administrators. The team works across two bases (Winchester and Basingstoke) and is innovative and keen on development. The team is currently working towards PLAN accreditation.
Within the wider Hampshire CAMHS service you will be joining a friendly, supportive and creative team of managers, dedicated to providing a high-quality service to support our various teams. The team managers have a peer supervision group, opportunity to meet monthly and a supportive communication through the month.
Hampshire CAMHS core business includes assessing young people's mental health, including attention to risk management and care planning, and working with families and the wider systems that support these young people.
Main duties of the job
As the Modern Matron you will have lead accountability for the delivery of the following objectives:
Promote and deliver the Modern Matron agenda, as defined by the Department of Health and Social Care.
Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence within the team and service and other related format, demonstrating clear and effective leadership.
Develop clear crisis pathways between community and acute settings in partnership with the community crisis service (i2i) Team Manager and adult mental health services.
Ensure that the highest standards of care are aspired to and achieved within the resources available.
Deliver effective governance, achieve performance targets, use information and data effectively to improve quality and minimise risk.
There is an expectation that this post holder will be able to offer flexible working hours which may occasionally include evening and weekend work (in discussion with line manager), and will be located across two main sites. The Matron will be expected to work a minimum of 2 shifts as part of the frontline team. The successful candidate will also participate in the 'on call' manager rota as required.
